Christ Centered Church is a diverse biblical family that exists to glorify God, empowered by the Holy Spirit making disciples who will make other disciples in our city and beyond through preaching Christ Centered gospel with love and compassion.

Christ Centered Church is a church planted by Joseph Sangweni in the East of Mamelodi in Nellmapius.

Joseph came into faith through a Charismatic church, but by God’s grace in 2008 he met brother Rashifumba now with the Lord he was preaching expository sermon. He was attracted to this kind of preaching, hence he desired how to preach exposition. . In 2010 by God’s grace, he went to study in Christ Baptist Seminary in Polokwane. While in Seminary having encountered sound theology, he had a desire to start a sound church in a township. In 2017 Christ Centered Church was planted.

When men were preparing to plant in middle class townships, my heart was troubled. What about those places in the township whereby many are unemployed and those employed earned less than 10.000 because of their situation they become victims of false prophets. Should we neglect them? For planting a church in such a place will take years for that church to self-sustain or never self-sustained at all. After much prayer indeed we were convinced that a healthy church is needed in this Nellmapius.

We started meeting in my house with only seven people for several months until
February 2017 when he had our first public service.

Thorough the help of Lig Punt we bought a tent later somebody from Lig Punt donated
fuds for us to erect the shack we are currently using.

We identified an open land and inquired from the council’s office, and they permitted us to use the land belonging to Prasa until Prasa demand the land back.
